Hand brake actuator connector.

Just had an issue with my left handbrake actuator for the second time is a year. Replaced left and right actuators last year due to a short circuit code. When I took the left one off, noticeably wet where the spline is that drives the handbrake on the caliper. At first I thought the o ring on the caliper was the issue. So used a thin application of instant gasket when putting the actuators back on the calipers. Seemed to work until recently.

Again I took the left actuator off and it’s slightly wet where the spine is again and moisture coming out of the actuator itself. Checked the connector on the harness and I see that the weather seal actually has a small nick in it and would seem this is where water ingress is happening.

For the life of me I can’t find where to get a replacement seal. I’ve found that the connectors seem to be made by TE Connectivity. Was going to just buy a whole new connector but of course, on TE website they are a restricted item.

Does anyone know where to get the weather seals or is the only option to just get a second hand connector off a parts car?

So initially I was going to try and use some instant gasket or silicone sealant to try and fix the issue with what I had a hand. But after trawling the TE website and all the different connectors, it looked as if the AMP Superseal weather seals would maybe do the job. Ordered a couple connectors and used the weather seal. Fitted it to the connector on my car and went for a drive in the extremely wet weather today. Touch wood it seam to have down the trick.
