Confusion about various Electronic Suspension Systems | |
Hi everyone,
I've been driving Freelander 2 Si4 HSE for the past 9 years and now I'm looking to buy a second-hand Range Rover Sport L494 from 2018-2020. It's funny, because in my opinion, RRS is the model that's closest to what I've had so far. I’ll be asking some annoying questions at first, but I hope to become a part of your community soon.
My questions are related to the L494, but I think it would be more appropriate to ask them on a general forum, as these systems are also known to owners of other models.
Could you help me with the following:
1. Does the Adaptive Dynamics system help reduce body roll in corners, or is it just an adaptive suspension that adjusts only the softness of the dampers based on the type of surface?
2. Can the Dynamic Response system coexists together with Adaptive Dynamics, or are they mutually exclusive? (I mean hardware compatibility)
3. Was the Dynamic Response system available in L494 as an option for various engines, or was it exclusive to the V8?
4. What does the Configurable Dynamics system do in relation to the suspension? Does this system add any additional hardware to the suspension?
I know most responses will likely come from the UK market, and I'm from Continental Europe, so there might be some differences regading to question no 3, but I hope I will learn a bit.
To be honest with you, I think they should fire the marketing guys who come up with all these confusing names, like, immediately! As far as I know, they use the word 'Dynamic' for other things as well, apart from the ones I've mentioned.
