Has anyone upgraded their instrument cluster from the early 2005 version, to a newer version

It's been done, but you need adaptors and stuff.

Doubt its worth the expense and hassle

Even if going from low line to high version on same model l320

are you talking about the speedo or center colour display ?

So basically looking at those two pictures you want to go from pre-facelift instrument cluster to the facelift 10/13 cluster, as the dash binnacle etc. and wiring are totally different, personally I would not think it's worth the effort.

Well it wasn't, I had a 2009 3.6TDV8 HSE and it was totally different to my current MY13 facelift instrument panel.
