My keys stopped working out of the blue a few years ago. I couldn’t get into the car with the remote or keyless entry so had to use the blade in the fob to open the car manually. I got into the car (alarm went off and tracker company rang me) then located the fuse for the passive entry , pulled it out then put back in. It has been ok since. In hindsight it would have been easier just to disconnect the battery for a minute or 2 just to reset the whole system. These cars have very complex electrical systems so I would try this first before taking it somewhere. If you have a lost or broken key policy with your breakdown cover or home insurance that could be another idea…… |
