My keys stopped working out of the blue a few years ago. I couldn’t get into the car with the remote or keyless entry so had to use the blade in the fob to open the car manually. I got into the car (alarm went off and tracker company rang me) then located the fuse for the passive entry , pulled it out then put back in. It has been ok since. In hindsight it would have been easier just to disconnect the battery for a minute or 2 just to reset the whole system. These cars have very complex electrical systems so I would try this first before taking it somewhere. If you have a lost or broken key policy with your breakdown cover or home insurance that could be another idea…… |

Hi, it is all very bizarre as I had to leave the car unlocked and didn’t get a chance to do anything about it the next day. However, when we got up the following morning the rear door was partially open so I tried to close it remotely with the smart key and it closed and I was able to lock the car!!

I’m assuming you can get into the boot? I would pull the fuse for passive entry which is located behind the right hand side panel in the boot and leave it out for a few mins. You may break a clip doing this so it may be easier just to disconnect the battery and leave for a few mins then reconnect. I think the issue is related to the KVM module. Mine has done this twice in 8 years. Hasn’t done it for 2 years now so I think a reset of the KVM module may do the trick. |

Thanks for the suggestion John. Having looked at the fuse list I assume it is the ones for ‘Keyless locking’ I need as I can’t see any for passive entry. It also lists two fuses for keyless locking, fuse 43 and 57, do I need to pull both? One is rated 20amps and the other 5amps.

Yeah if I remember rightly there are 2 fuses. Pull them both, it won’t do any harm |
