England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Fuji White
What Service next ?

Hello All,

I just bought a 98k mile RRS (July 2013) 3.0D

I have known the car for 8 years, so know its been reasonably well looked after. However it now needs a service, and i'm keen to get as much done as possible (diff, gearbox oil etc)

Therefore what service do to get next and where.
Is there a recommended specialist near SK9 - Cheshire

It also needs an aux battery (I think, as the Eco light is on) and steering is slightly off centre (could be tracking).

Thanks

Its had full Land Rover Service, last one was 18 months and 12k miles ago

144,000 miles/ 108 months service

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Is it an L320 (original shape)

or a L494 (big Evoque shape)

Either way, it looks to be missing some services as they are due every 12 months OR miles whichever comes first. It would appear that it's due a B service and needs things like auxiliary drive belts doing along with diffs (check whether it has a locking rear diff as the oils are different for locking/non-locking rear diffs), transfer case, etc. I'd get the gearbox done too as that's a 10 year item (although benefits from doing more frequently).

It does show that a "full LR service history" isn't actually that full at all in many cases (plenty out there that get serviced less frequently than they should but still claim "full LR service history"). Not a criticism of you or your car, just the attitudes of too many car owners to servicing. Crying or Very sad 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It’s a L494 - sounds like next service is a big one, with items I want doing, gearbox, diff oil etc

Yep it looks to have slipped from annual servicing in first 3 years, to 5 services over last 7 years and 58k miles. (Still much better than the new shape defender we had, which was service every 2 years or 20k miles).

For its full life it’s always been serviced at Land Rover, I assume at this age a specialist might be better ?

My opinion is to use a decent LR specialist and stay away from LR's dealership servicing. In my experience it's a better result all round. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
