United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Battery Warning Light

Hello all, I am new here however I have owned several RRS’s love them and never really had many issues with the ones I have had.

My current one however has the battery warning light on and has always had it on since I got it, the voltage seems ok when I clear the fault but when the light comes on again a minute later the voltage drops. Everything has always worked in the car for the past 6months other than the stereo which goes into low power saving mode.

Can anyone please advise what I should try and do to fix this issue.

TIA
DAVEY

you probably want to run some checks, but I expect you will need an alternator

Only fit a genuine one, as others give all sorts of problems, like you have now.

I'm suprised you have got away with it for soo long as it is,,, once they start to be unreliable the alternator will go south very quickly. I've had the same issue with mine,,, checking the voltage is not a definitive test,, you need to check the output current as well.
Whatever you do,,, do it quickly before you are left stranded. 2010 RRS, TDV8
