May be shot down in flames here but I think the FBH does not lock out permanently after a certain number of low fuel incidents (urban myth).

The heater will not attempt to run if the fuel level is too low

A couple of winters ago I had the very same issue, I fixed it on a very cold morning by starting the car, waiting for the FBH to kick in, around a minute, and then turning the car off again, I waited 5 minutes for all the huffing and puffing to stop, and then repeated the procedure, I did this around 15 times untill the FBH finally ran on its own, you should know if you are getting close to success as the FBH generates a lot of smoke before finally kicking into life 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater ))) |

Agreed. There is a lock out mode but it is for more serious issues (thought I'd include it here for the reference of others without the manual): 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Had the heater reset this morning by local webasto dealer, he told me that it was locked out and had a few codes, every thing looks good now, he said 'as the car is hot, the heater would not kick in so check in the morning and see what happens, if it does not work come in tomorrow morning' so we will see! About to get into a sport |
