I know on the discovery 3 they do a preformed pipe that you cut and join above the centre exhaust box.

L/R do list a repair section brake pipe that needs to be joined in the center of car and goes to the flexible pipe that is secured to the body at each rear wheel, there is another steel pipe that connects the two flexible pipes together at each wheel which they maybe talking of as well.

Two pipes front to rear, one goes to the o/s/r caliper the other to the n/s/r caliper.

They’re just brake pipes, not rocket science. Replacing them doesn’t need JLR preformed lines, just the correct length, going to the correct position.

When I done mine on my disco 3 it was cheaper and easier to buy the repair section as they followed the original route and had the correct flare on the ends also made out of coated steel same as original.

I had this on my 2005 4.2 s/c. It was a body off job which might explain the labour charge. On my current 5.0 s/c they replaced a section without lifting the body. I think it may depend on how much corrosion there is and which section needs to be replaced. Cheers,

My brake pipes were replaced at the same time as the crossover pipe as that required the body to be lifted. Doing the pipes (which had been mentioned in the previous MOT) was a no-brainer once the body was off anyway. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Talking of things to be looked at while the body is off, if its being lifted, also take a look at the ACE pipes front and rear. They regularly cause issues at the age the L320's are at and while its in the air, it could save you from some trouble later. Just a thought. Cheers,
