Roof break light - remover?

2006 Sport. The rear roof brake light has become distorted, presumably due to the sun. I have a replacement. My question is....if I remove just the upper central panel trip in the boot (as in the picture) will I be able to get to all the "bits" to enable removal of the light fitting? If so do I just use force to remove the trim panel?!? Andrew Kennedy

Sadly done from the outside!

Remove the rear spoiler (some torox bolts) and plastic 10mm nuts I think in the glass section.

Disconnector washer pipe and cable.
Spoiler off, and now change the brake light

Andy - When you say "sadly done from outside" are you referring to having to remove all the trim in the boot upper section before I can get to take off the spoiler? If so, dose the trim simple pull off i.e. held on with clips? Andrew Kennedy

No trim removal required.

It’s all done from the outside.

Roof brake light removal

Well. thanks both for your input re removing the parts for getting at the roof brake light - seems my car is not fitted out as a standard 2006 model?!?

There are no visible bolts or anything like the pictures or a video I have looked at for a 2006 model.

If you have a look at the two attached pixs (not an easy area to take a photo) you will see, the only bolts up in that area are for taking off the boot lid. It seems to me I probably need to remove the bulky trim that encompasses the area all round the inside of the boot lid - if that is the next step, how do I remove the trim? Brute force and ignorance??! Andrew Kennedy

rear cols procedure carefully.

You need to lift the small glass only opening first. Undo the torx.
Close carefully, supporting the spoiler.

Then open the full tail gate to undo the plastic nuts
