Morning all. I've just been renovating the false bonnet vents on my 2014 L494. It involves removing the sound-deadening panel on the underside of the bonnet. As my hands are too big to remove them the way powerful kid shows on YouTube. Once the panel was removed access was blocked by a large lump of foam wrapped in black plastic. Wow! I thought. It might be a stash of cash or something illegal. But nah. Just a bag of soft sponge. Then found the same on the other side. I had to pull them out to reach the tabs on the false vent. Perhaps someone could tell me what they are there for. Anti drumming I guess?
No doubt someone will tell me .

you should throw them away they can cause restricted performance if they move and block the inlet..See
