Park assist

Anyone, got park assist on their car? Firstly, it’s terrifying, but once you get over that it seems to work.

My question is…. There is talk of a remote parking app, which should enable you to manoeuvre the car from outside (get into and out of tight garage etc) I can’t find the app in either play store or App Store.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Yes I have it.

No - I’ve not used it.

Yes, there should be a remote App and it was due in “late 2022” according to the LR web site I found but it’s nowhere to be seen….yet.

As above.. re park assist. Got it but never used.

I did have the out of car remote parking app on a previous Merc and it did work well. Helped with not having to open doors etc in tight spaces.

I have the park assist and its the first car I have had with it that actually works and is easy to activate.

It is slightly unnerving because it parks twice as fast as I would on my own and so I have my foot a millimeter from the brake pedal.

Dunno about remote but that would be even more unnerving. L461 P460e AB

I've just paid a deposit for 2024 RRS 300D. The initial car I wanted had park assist but unfortunately it has been sold. Now they've managed to get another car but without park assist instead its got Premium cabin lighting & Heads Up Display which i think the HUD can be a distraction in a way but guess it can be disabled as well.

Is there a way to add the park assist via autosvs - https://autosvs.com/rover-sport-park-assist-gen2/

Hi,

I’d have the HUD every day and twice on Sundays over park assist.

Ordered it specially on our last four Landrover products (RRS’s , D5 & D90).

Wouldn’t be without it!

HUD is the best thing going, far better than park assist & surround cameras. Think I used mine twice Range Rover Sport: Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S

Interestingly, HUD is no longer an option on the configurator…. I couldn’t spec it. Which was annoying as I had it on previous 2 RRS MY 24 D300 Dynamic

@Atlanticjon, yes you can correct. its not in the configurator. The dealership will need to add it as options on their other application/system.

That was what they did as mine was already pre-configured for another customer and it was showing again in the build configurator anymore.

The current D350 First Ed is the first RRS I have had the HUD on and would totally agree that it is a great tool, don't know why I didn't spec it on the others.

As for the Park assist, in four months of having it I have never used it, and to be honest never remember it is there until after I have parked.

And don't get me started on soft close doors, totally pointless, no matter how many times you tell people they will always slam the doors. 2023 D350 FIRST EDITION, SANTORINI WITH CLOUD/EBONY

Soft close doors is an interesting one.

A number of premium cars have it like the L461. Its sold as a convenience item and many wonder what is the point. I think the reality is that the real benefit is that the system that does the final pull in is stronger than a manual slam and so it can hold the door tighter against the seal, reducing wind noise. This is particularly important with premium cars that have double door seals like the L461.

Double door seals are a must have for me because, apart from an extra wind noise seal they ensure the shuts don't get dirty. The L461 is the best car I have ever had for keeping the shuts clean and hence my clothes getting in and out. L461 P460e AB

Totally agree with you on the double seals and door shuts, it's the constantly reminding the same people that the doors are soft close so don't slam them, and for some reason people think Oh it's a heavy door so must push it hard to close it, that just drives me nuts and wife is the worst of the lot. she's in the car or driving it most days. Evil or Very Mad

Makes me want to stick a notice readable from the inside and outside on all the door windows or just not let any one else in the car, ever. 2023 D350 FIRST EDITION, SANTORINI WITH CLOUD/EBONY
