MY2010 key fob coding

My TDV8 came with 2 key fobs, both with the same blade, but one with a CR2025 (nun functioning) and one with a CR2032 (functioning).

The non functioning fob looks to have very little wear, so I’ve changed the battery to a new CR2032, so I know that should all be well.

How do I go about checking the status of the fob and what I need to do to code it to the car ? Read a few posts and watched a few videos, so would appreciate some guidance to stop me disappearing down various incorrect rabbit holes !

Many thanks

Jonny

Hi, I have purchased the parts linked below:

Replacement fob
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204540386637
x2 £12.56

Battery
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09QTVQHJC?psc...ct_details
X1 £6.85

Soldering iron
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B18GP2K6?psc...ct_details
X1 £12.99

Total £43.40

Swapped my blades into the new fobs and soldered the battery onto the board on the one that was not working and surprise, surprise I now have 2 fully functioning new looking keys.

Fitting the blades required some filing but all in probably took no longer than 30 mins for both keys.

Thanks Hiram - I’m on the keyless go style fob for the MY10 cars, so no soldering needed. Just trying to work out if my fob is kaput or not.
