United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver
So long, farewell, and … hello!

Hi all,

After a couple of years and countless sleepless nights, my 2007 RRS 2.7 HSE is being part-exchanged tomorrow …. it has reached what I’d consider to be a ‘tired’ state of life, with a growing list of maintenance items that is likely to swallow more cash, so I’ve decided I’d rather put the money into a newer car. The job list reads as follows:

ACE still not behaving - suspect rear ARB leak / replacement required
‘Engine fault’ - this one is very intermittent, so generally drive around it - no sign of obvious leaks / turbo actuator free etc
Air con - needs refilling after about 8 weeks, suspect new condenser required
Tyres - need 4 within the next 5k miles
Front lower arms - got more play than Playschool apparently
Brakes - all changed a year or so ago, but annoying wobble from mid speed / gentle application - suspect post-Nurburgring warpage!

So, tomorrow is its final day with me - I have really enjoyed wafting around in this car and will be sad to see it go, despite the job list above …. If anyone fancies a bit of a project, PM me in the next 24 hours Smile

New car? 2013 L320 RRS, naturally!

I did the same, 2005 4.2 straight into a 2010 L320 3.6 TDV8. My 4.2 is in top notch condition though and currently up for sale.

The facelifts are so nice compared to the earlier cars. Nothing else I could envisage driving at the price.

Mind you, have people like Andy & Col on here to help out has been a godsend and part of the reason I stuck with a RRS.

Enjoy the new car !

... and here is the replacement .... not quite the exact spec that I was after, as I was keen on a heated steering wheel for my arthritic hands, but I'll add that in due course when I locate one ..... picked up last Thursday from Walsall, straight down to Snowdonia, then back to Kent on Sunday - all good on the whole, with the trip throwing up a job list.

First up ... mudflaps (done today from PowerfulUK) ....

Next up ... new front discs / pads ordered from Autodoc ... mid-speed steering wobble when applying the brakes - ok, might not be the discs, but they're lipped anyway, so need to be binned.

After that ... front lower wishbones / front ARB bushes - might be able to diy the wishbones, but I really can't fathom how people on here manage to do the ARB bushes.

After that ... bin the pirelli scorpion, and get a michelin to match the other 3.....

.... then, hopefully, enjoy!

You unbolt this and it gives you plenty of room no special tools needed
