So. I’m trying to help someone out with his L494. It has an intermittent fault where the steering will go heavier or stop working completely. When this happens a load of error codes scroll across the cluster including ABS, HDC, stability, and a few others including eco stop start not available. Basically a load that read as comms faults or voltage related. The dealer has fitted 2 new batteries that made no difference. I have checked the steering rack connections and earths in the boot, but I’ve not checked the ones in wheel arches yet. Im doing this as a favour so no financial gain in it for me, just want to help someone out. Anyone had similar and found it was front earth points?

Front earths are very common and easiest place to start
