Infotainment Audio, SatNav & Bluetooth Failed

I have discovered today that the passenger side (UK) front and rear carpets are soaking wet. I have not managed to work out where the water has come from but after all the crackling and popping from the stereo I am assuming water has got in somewhere.

I was told that the amp is under the passenger seat but having looked under there I can't see anything that looks like an amp! Anybody had this issue and managed to resolve it? Current: 2014 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography 110k miles......will it make the 200k like the Boss did1

Hi, I had the same problem in my 2014 AB (with the 1700W sig-ref system) a few months ago.

After much swearing and googling , a combination of this fixed it:

1). Remove the 3 or 4 fuses in the boot relating to hi-fi/infotainment - mine were in a small, grey separate fuse-box beneath the main one in the boot on driver's side, quite fiddly.

2). Charge the car's battery overnight

Next morning - fuses back in and it all worked perfectly and has been fine since.

I suspect you have water-ingress from a blocked sunroof drain...that needs to be sorted.

Good luck! 2014 L494 V8 s/c Autobiography Dynamic

Thanks Punkawallah! I did wonder what that grey box was for and I did check to see if all the fuses were good there to. Yep water ingress on that side and I have a feeling it has blown my diff module tucked away above the grey fuse box, certainly a smell of burning from it when I took it out yesterday.

As for the water I think the fact the little hose that should be in the side of the battery which is also connected to the drain hole in the filler cap was completely adrift from the battery and heavy rain I think it all sprayed inside, now firmly back on the battery! No ingress this morning after yesterdays rain so now the repairs.

No mention of the grey fuse box anywhere, did you find a diagram of what all the fuses in that box do? Current: 2014 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography 110k miles......will it make the 200k like the Boss did1

I think I used the handbook and a little guesswork to work out which fuses did what. From memory the ones you want to remove are 10A and 15A fuses, you'll need some long-nose pliers! Good luck... 2014 L494 V8 s/c Autobiography Dynamic

Check your sunroof drains immediatly , just above door aperture on rear seats.
Pull the rubber weather strip off and feel under the headliner.

Thanks, I didn't have the handbook but managed to download one and you are spot on. I will try that at the weekend. Current: 2014 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography 110k miles......will it make the 200k like the Boss did1

Thanks for that. I will check at the weekend. It doesn't seem to be getting any worse considering the rain we have had this week and the boot area seems to be dry now! Current: 2014 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography 110k miles......will it make the 200k like the Boss did1

Would you know which way or the route the drains take ie from above the door aperture the go down and out somewhere, would the out let possibly be blocked is my thinking? Current: 2014 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography 110k miles......will it make the 200k like the Boss did1

You need to blow some compressed air through the drain from the top to test if there blocked/working - you need to pop the long trim off the roof to edge of the sun roof- use a plastic tool and just the pop clips off from back of the car to the front - you can then see the drain hole.
I put a straw down it with some water in my mouth and blow through the straw - it should come out the at the back wheel if not you need to a drain repair. Let us know how you get on

Thanks. Just reading up and I have the full pano with the electric roof. Seems the drain is in the sunroof cassette rear. The consensus is that the steel nipples that the hose attaches to rot away. So I intend to check under the roof lining first, then fully retract the sunroof and pour a little water in the cassette which should drain away or it will end up inside the car. Update to follow, suns out tomorrow so be a good chance to try. Current: 2014 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography 110k miles......will it make the 200k like the Boss did1

Yes that’s it matey. Common unfortunately on the pano roof cassette another bad design :/.
I’ve done a full repair manual with pics on another forum and an American guy has done a YouTube video now also of the repair quite easy to do 3 hour job with some cheap materials.
I’ll post the links here for you.

Checked exactly where you suggested and the hose is not connected as the steel nipple has rotted away so the source of the problem is found but not the solution yet! Current: 2014 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography 110k miles......will it make the 200k like the Boss did1
