How come there is no update from LR for pre 2016 cars?? Are they less prone to be pinched? Do they have better security from the factory? |

Unfortunately not, there are umpteen videos on YouTube about this and interviews with senior JLR staff.

If they are using the kit to steal vehicles, I'm not really sure they will be bothered much about whether it becomes illegal to own it or not, bit like it's illegal to own a unlicensed gun doesn't appear to stop criminals having them though.

But making possession illegal, Col, means that should Plod stop someone carrying such a bit of kit he can arrest said scumbag. Which slows the down a bit, if nothing else. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Maybe they're just no longer desirable on the stolen-hand market? Late L494 and new L461 are what they seem interested in these days. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I hope so. My car has a private plate on which to the untrained eye makes it look like a 2011 plate so hopefully these thieving scum bags will think it’s too old for them to move on. I don’t think even they are that stupid though……… |

The operative word is SHOULD, not much chance of that when they don't even investigate burglaries Perhaps I should put back on my mis spaced reg plates, that I was stopped for, then I would be guaranteed to get the car back. They would be really interested then Range Rover Sport (gone): Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S: Range Rover Fifty P400e |
