VED - Eek!

I love my RRS but I tend not to use it all the time and now its got a dead battery. So I SORN'd it just before the end of the month and as it mentions Direct Debit refund, though I check what I'd actually been paying - £60.81 month - that's £729 a year Shocked When did it get so high? I see its due to go up another £40 in April as well! Last I know it was about £550...
As I said, I love it but now seriously tempted to sell it/the parts and get a tax/mot exempt old Landrover...

Get yourself a pre-April 2006 RRS. The tax is half that of a car a month newer.

I have a Euro6 2017 4.4d V8, and was paying around £550 per year for the first 4 years I owned her. However she in now 6 years old and she now falls into a flat rate older car VED at £165 per year.

I have no idea what the thinking is behind this, but I aint complaining. MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)

The VED being high for a while and then dropping was one of those envy taxes brought in for cars over £40k, if I remember correctly. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yeap.

I think it’s more like £180 -190 though when I checked this morning.
