New order

Just placed an order for a D350 Borasco Grey AB. Been told by dealer it is likely to be 24 months before delivery!

That is a long wait! The lead times given on the LR website don’t seem to be very accurate.

If my RRS P440e AB arrives in August as planned, it will be around 15 months after ordering.

Similar, if my P440 AB arrives in August 23, would have been 12 months but I was lucky as my order got brought forward due to a prior cancelled order - think by 3 months MY23, 3.0 P440e PHEV AB, Carparthian Grey, Deep Garnett interior

We put in our reservation back in May 2022 for 440e AB. Dealer (Marshalls Lincoln) has been pretty good keeping us informed about the lack of any progress until a week ago when it appears that our car has also been "slotted" for build in August 2023, delivery September (so 18 months post order).

It does seem odd to me that a £100k+ car purchase involves accepting that you join a queue of uncertain length with a process for getting to the front of the queue that is unclear (and has special unknown hazards that could move you forward or back) and an expected time to get to the front of the queue being unknown!

On the other hand, glad that the car is popular and that is good for UK car manufacturing and jobs.

Hope this makes you all feel a little better. I ordered a company Porsche Taycan Nov 2021, received a build slot for Feb 2023, car built and now stuck at a German docks in Emden as VW have messed up their shipping allocation demand - Porsche are now saying I will be lucky to see my car sometime between July and Sept 2023....no care or consideration for the customer.

Well put. Just add in some price rises for good measure…

Price increases

Ordered my P440e in January 23, got an email last week saying no updates or build slot
Update but the price has gone up by £10.5k and may go up again before the order goes into
Production. Is everyone else seeing the same
Sort of increases..

Ordered Day 1 May’22 440e Dyn SE. Still nothing.

Order being requeued to be a MY24 with the £6k price rise. Prob gonna be a 460e. Production slowed from now, as winding up MY23 builds.

Only price protection is for cars already slotted for build, with LR only helping out with £4k of the £6k rise.

Thanks LR..zero clarity on when I may get it. Big Cry

From what my dealer said, MY23 is pretty much done, so much so they are only expecting a handful of cars which are already slotted for build. Dealership has over 200 orders still yet to be fulfilled, these will be 24MY.

Got some good news today! When I ordered my AB back in April was told it would be 18-24 months. Now told order confirmed, last date for adjustment 4th July, build in August and delivered in Sept. Smile

We ordered our 440e AB in May 2022 and are now slotted for production with a September delivery. it will be a MY23 (we are told) and we have some price support. If we want to wait for a MY24 we will have an uncertain delivery time and an even more uncertain price!

Seems a bit of a lottery.

I ordered a FE p510 early May 2022. Was told last week that it would now be an AB as there will be no more FE, but have full price protection.

This week I've had a build slot confirming 1st September with delivery late September, for a 24MY p550 AB, at near full list price with only pennies offered as price protection.

I think both dealers and LR are just making it up as they go.

My understanding is price protection is offered from the moment it goes to ‘Order Confirmed’ on Vista. ‘Holding Pool’ status = no price protection.

That being said, some dealers may not be being particularly honest here and using this as a way to get more margin out the vehicle.

In your specific example, the derivative you ordered was discontinued and so I imagine it’s an ‘easy’ excuse for them.
