United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
I broke it...

3 week old TDV8 dead on my drive, gutted,

Just finished giving it a proper clean before the wife and I were due to go out for lunch... jumped in turned the key "park break fault" popped up.... switched it off, tried again, no lights, no noise, nothing... Big Cry

Land Rover Assist ( who were very very good BTW) came out, tinkered around with it, jump started it and concluded it needs a new alternator?! The Alarm went off all night

Dropped back at the dealership this afternoon..

sigh Crying or Very sad Something else is always something better:

Shows what a good alarm it is if it didn't wake you up! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Make sure they fit a new battery at the same time as the alternator ATM. The battery never recovers properly after being completely drained. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

I've learned something new today.., I was always told you can never over-flatten a battery, just over-charge it and cause damage. Thanks TB, I will remember that in future! Thumbs Up MY12 SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ebony/Piano/Sidesteps/Privacy/Overfinch Olympus/JLR DRLs

if you flatten a battery to that extent then a normal alternator wont recharge it, but you will recharge it if you use a good quality battery charger, then drop it back on to the car and it should be fine, in most cases Thumbs Up some of my Previous cars

Thanks, Doctor Envoy! But I'd now still insist on a new battery if claiming under warranty after TBs comments! Wink MY12 SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ebony/Piano/Sidesteps/Privacy/Overfinch Olympus/JLR DRLs
