EGR Cooler health

Hi
After my wife' 2008 3.6TDv8 came to a halt after a cloud of white smoke etc out the back, a independent Land Rover garage advised it had a blown headgasket after detecting exhaust gas in the coolant. No other tests were performed.
No oil in coolant or visa versa.
The vehicle has sat for around 8m and after getting advice to check the EGR cooler I have now pulled both out. I have not had them pressure tested as yet.
I separated the EGR and cooler and found these deposits on the inlet to the cooler. Closer inspection the deposits seem crystalline in nature - could this been coolant?

Could be. Check the intake for signs of coolant. I literally just did this job on a 3.6 L322 last week. At first glance it seemed like head gaskets, but when I pulled the intake hoses there was signs of coolant in the intake. After changing them and one of the inlet elbows all was well again

I used a rubber seal on one coolant pipe and put a vacuum on the other pipe. Could hear hissing inside the cooler from the leak. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Ok, thats enouraging...
I dont have access to a compressor or vacc source. so getting local radiator specialist to pressure test the coolers. Will update with the outcome.
