Charge light

Hi all my charge light has been on for about 2 weeks now but still charging at 13.8 to 14.2 volts had a new starter fitter about a month ago sometimes the light goes out when I have checked the charging state it’s reading between 12.8 and 15 .2. But only when light s out 2.7 sport diesel 2006 help help would be appreciated thanks ste .

I would say 13.8 - 14.2 is too low,,, should be a constant 14.6/7V . My alternator output began to drop to the 13.8 mark just before it failed completely. Really need to check the current output as well though, not just voltage 2010 RRS, TDV8

heated everything, TV,fridge ...... now with gold calipers and mud flaps !( black mud flaps that is) !!
Many years ago,,,,, 1955 series 1 landie , sometimes wish I had kept it

If the charge light is on it means you have a fault ...it does not mean you have no charge but charge can be reduced . Best get a new alternator Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.
