I would say 13.8 - 14.2 is too low,,, should be a constant 14.6/7V . My alternator output began to drop to the 13.8 mark just before it failed completely. Really need to check the current output as well though, not just voltage 2010 RRS, TDV8

If the charge light is on it means you have a fault ...it does not mean you have no charge but charge can be reduced . Best get a new alternator Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.
