If you owned a classic Jag you would have your battery maintainer ON if you did not use it for about 3 days ..standard practice in Jag world.

Yeah, it was really a streak of failures. Granted, I've found a discounted returned item (although it was not advertised as returned because of being faulty), it didn't work at all. Exercising my customer rights I asked for a working one, got a replacement which kept blinking the LEDs and gave zero volts on output. Returned the 2nd one and asked for a checked, working one or my money back (meanwhile I got a 60A workshop power supply so I didn't really bothered about the Ctek any more). Eventually I got a working one and it rides with me hidden under the rear seat ever since, just in case.

Putting it under the rear seat (along with the stuff already there) is an interesting idea. I wonder if my cables are long enough to remain plugged in |

Ctek all the way. I have 3 for different cars. Bought a cheapo £15 Lidl one last year to see how it was. Lasted about 4 weeks then failed. Buy cheap, buy twice Range Rover Sport (gone): Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S: Range Rover Fifty P400e |

A lot of manufacturers use the CTEC and put their name on them. BMW and Bentley spring to mind |

I have 3, of them and have never had a problem with any of them. Ones for the RRS, another for a Z4 I have and another for a motorcycle. I also bought a cheap £15 one from Lidl and to be fair is ok but if you have a power cut for example (which we have around 4 times a year where I live) the Lidl one will not revert back to charging the battery, you need to press the buttons on the unit to start charging again but with the CTECs they revert back to charging the battery with the settings the same as before the power cut. You can also buy a lot of extras for the CTEC like a 12V socket adapter and longer charging leads. |

Just ordered the ctek one from them direct, after sending a few messages back and forth. Is it best to connect it to the main battery under the spare wheel or the start stop in the side panel? 2017 5.0 v8 Supercharged Autobiography
