very odd one here

needed to replace the passenger side Rear courtesy light, oddly it was a bit of a struggle to remove, then it popped out of the head lining.

Reason for the struggle was there was no slack in the length of the loom to it, now I have no way to get to the plug to put the new one in.....

Do they get hooked up somewhere in the roof space, are they just too short?

Looks like my only resolution is to drop the lining.

Any help appreciated

L/R were a bit skint with the length of the loom, if you take the complete lamp out you should find it a gain, but it can be a bit of fiddle.

I can see the plug, however there is no length to get the lamp on to it, if that makes sense.

I don't think you are the first one to have that problem, I can't really remember but I think the harness is bonded to the headlining with a bit of glue, and I suspect the lamps are fitted and connected to the headlining before it is fitted to the vehicle which is why there may not be a lot of slack, but if you can dislodge the glue it may give you a bit more cable length. That is only a suggestion I don't know for sure.

you're not wrong there, the plug on the loom was about 15mm from the lamp hole no way to get the plug on.
I could just about reach the plug with long nose pliers, once gripped, slowly and gently pulled on the loom until it came to the opening. sounded like it was bonded to the headliner and gently came free a bit.

eventually got the lamp unit back on and all working. never to touch it again
