Land Rover Specialist Preston

Hi all, I have a RRSSC 5.0 & it needs a B service, new Brembo discs etc, I live near Preston Normally use K motors in Leyland, one or two things that have happened in the past have concerned me slightly & wondered if anyone has used Independent Land Rover Specialist in Murray St Preston Lancs. Google reviews are mainly good but one person claims the engineers are not Land Rover trained at all & the original Land Rover service centre went into liquidation in 2016…..I would be grateful of any input, thanks 😊.

lol...being land rover trained has nothing to do with ability to work on land rovers.

From what I've seen from some dealers, I'm not sure actually being Land Rover factory trained is any real recommendation.

Cheers

I’m in South Ribble and pretty much have the same dilemma as you. I’ve had K Motors work on my previous LR without issue, but also hearing that they’ve gone downhill a bit and the regular turnover of staff is quite concerning. I went to Independent Land Rover specialists too, but the whole place looks like a scrap yard and there tends to be a lot of unloved stuff lying about. The proprietor didn’t fill me with confidence either.
I went up to Southport (Birkdale) and spoke to Worldwide LR who seemed very decent, well set up and had time for my questions. Some nice new stuff there, so I’m assuming the residents of Birkdale trust them!
I still take mine to the dealer for servicing but I’m going to start using Worldwide for anything else I need doing.

Invest in some tools and do the work yourself. My car has not been to a Landrover dealer or independant in over 8 years.
