Sticky switchgear

I had a look via the search but couldn't find a specific topic.
Problem is a lot of the switches (particularly those on the steering wheel) are what I can only describe as 'sticky'. Not as in function but to the touch.
I have tried a number of 'under kitchen sink' cleaners and also alcohol on a cotton bud, but nothing seems to remove the 'tacky' feeling.
Anything else to try? RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

gents, I'm tired of the sticky window switches.

Any aftermarket products that are plug-n-play? --

Ok, I was finally gatvol of the sticky buttons but not enough to fork out for aftermarket complete switch units.

Eventually I settled for these button stickers from AliExpress, cheap as chips, and they work well enough: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006113383396.html

Just one caveat with the set I ordered: it didn't include the ATPC button, so I had to make a not-so-ideal plan (see if you can spot it in the photos).

No cleaner will fix it for more than five minutes and if careless can cause damage. The only answer is to buy replacements.

Obviously, original parts are silly money, but although you can buy a lot of them from Amazon, the same stuff is available for a fifth of the price (including P&P) from Aliexpress.

I've replaced all mine both in this car and in previous ones.

I'm guessing the ATPC button is now an upside down LIM button?

Scraping the sticky layer off with a thumbnail and cleaning up with windex seems the normal solution.
