It would make sense for 23MY production to stop when the factory shuts down, but that doesn’t appear to be the case!

My June 2022 order got a build date a couple of weeks ago of last week in September. It is definitely MY 24. The information I was given had a last spec change date of 26th July. That was Wednesday and Yesterday at start of business I got an automated email from JLR inviting me to the Land Rover Experience Half Day off road. My guess was that that email was triggered by the build being finally committed in the schedule.

Is it price protected? Tim
RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

I have been told in writing that it is price protected. Exactly what that means in terms of which price it is protected at, I am not quite sure, but I will be working on the principle that it is the price at the time of order.

I am looking forward to delivery but can't shake myself of the feeling that I have been treated as a second class citizen. JLR publicly say they have a ~200k order book and build ~100k a quarter which by my calculations means that they have a 6 month order book. I will have waited 16 months and I know of others who are getting PHEVs through the big leasing companies who are getting them in 6 months.

Just buying one car, even if it costs £100k, makes me a nobody in JLRs eyes. Crying or Very sad

Price protection applies when JLR 'accept' your order.

So if you order it today and it goes up in price tomorrow you will pay new price.

But once the order has been accepted say December 2023 then you will pay that price even if the price increases on 1st January 2024.

Placing an order doesn't mean anything until JLR 'accept' the order ready for build slotting. Regards

DJ
