Front seat head rest removal

Hi I have purchased new canvas front seat covers and I need to remove head rests to install. Thought raising to top and then pull off would be the answer but doesn't seem to work. Do any members know how I might remove? M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.
