As far as I remember, a blue screen means there is no video feed from the satnav computer to the display (what you see on the display is actually taken from the video output of the satnav computer). Can be caused by the computer not starting up properly. Some map discs contain a firmware update to the computer, perhaps loading such disc and booting up the computer would update the firmware and bring it back to life? 2011 update had it, if my memory serves. Regards etc.,

I did it ages ago but I believe it was fairly simple: if you happen to find a relatively (2011!!!) new disc (you can check if it contains the firmware update by putting it in your PC and looking for a file named "loading.kwi" on the disc), just pop it into the satnav computer and turn the ignition on. I don't have any way to check it but perhaps one of the chaps with a prefacelift will confirm this. Regards etc.,

I’ll see if I can find a suitable disc and give it a try. Thank you for your help 👍 |
