Both my key fobs have died and I'm locked out of the car....

Hi All,

Both my key fobs are dead for my 2012 RRS. I've changed the batteries but can't get in the car. Does anyone know how to get in and reset them? I'm a bit "cattle trucked" at the moment.

Appreciate any advice........ Cheers,

Stuart.

You can get into the car by flipping off the plastic cover on the n/s door handle and unlock using the key blade. Place the remote under the steering column and try to start as normal, there is a location area in the consol to place the key, If I remember right the fob buttons have to face down.

Cheers
Col

not sure on this year.
If you hold the key under the steering column, (where indicated by square) you can start the engine

I'm in. It may not have been the fob. The car is completely dead. Just had a new battery a couple of weeks ago but, this is not like it gone flat. This is completely dead...... B*llocks! Cheers,

This can be caused by the keyless entry system - I had this a few months ago out of the blue. I even changed the key fob battery (I had a spare in the car). No use. Did some online research and found out about the keyless entry system.

Here is the post I put up about it: https://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic60103.html?highlight=fuse

No idea if it will help or not, but hopefully it does. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

appreciate the input. Unfortunately, not this time: the battery is completely drained. Its less than 6 weeks old so I assume something has drained it. Back up and running with the car now in the shop. There's a list of error codes as long as your arm so, can't see the wood for the trees at the moment.

Only 2 issues with the car before this.

1. osr door unlocking wasn't working on the central locking system
2. one of the parking sensors was down so the whole parking system was off with the usual "call the dealer" message.

Strangely, the osr door opening is now working, albeit not feeling "sharp" but working.

These guys are local to me and were recommended by another owner.

I'll let you know how we get on with them but, I would say they have 3 great dogs in the office so, extra points immediately. Cheers,

Stuart.

Would that be Jack Russells? I use Glenrands and can highly revcommend them. Hopefully they'll get it sorted for you. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Yes indeed, 3 of them. Must have smelt my old Labrador on me and the biscuits normally in my pocket. Lovely dogs.

They are very busy. Might take a few days. Fingers crossed. Cheers,
