"Voumm-voumm" rotational sound at low speed.

Hello,

I recently bought a RRS L320, 2009, 3.6 TDV8, HSE with 203000 kms on the clock.
During the test drive, I heard a regular rotational "voumm-voumm" style type of sound, no knocking, clunking, grinding or whining sound, just a smooth regular ( every 1/2 second or so) voumm-voumm sound. I couldn't really locate the sound exactly but it's from the mid to front end of the vehicle. The previous owner said it was a front wheel bearing. It's only at low speed, up to about 60kmh or so, then disappears. Acceleration and braking has no effect on the noise.
Then my mind went fuzzy and I believed him.
I took the RRS to my local LR dealership and they suspected a mid-prop shaft bearing and doughnut bush and bracket fail. This was duly changed with a new bearing, bush, bracket and rebalanced.
However this did not solve the problem and the sound is still there, maybe a little better but not really sure.
The dealer then said it could also be a front diff issue, as they detected noise using a sound diagnostic hearing tool.
Now I am a little lost.

Has anyone else had the same issue? Does a diff really make a low voumm voumm regular rotational noise when damaged?
As a DIY mechanic with good knowledge of LR ( Series, Disco, RR...), I always assumed it was a grinding, clunking, or whining noise.

Need some additional pragmatic brain power on this one!

Cheers.

Worn tyres can also give these noises, especially if they are budget.

Thanks, tires are brand new snow tires and can't see any tire bulging or deformity.
Very strange sound indeed, checked everything and am at a loss as to where it is coming from.
I doubt the diff makes such a rotational "vouumm "rubbing sound.
Just really niggly and infuriating sound on such a damn good engine and sound.

It seems that the noise is the diff and on it's way out!
How the Censored can a diff go at 200K kms on a top-end RRS.

I recall reading that the front diff is a weak point. I had a drone which also turned out to be a front diff. Once changed the car was virtually silent. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.
