Exhaust tail pipe ? Yea or No

Hi Guys

So yeah I’ve got a RRS HSE 2010 but I believe the rear of the car may of been modified if that of the autobiography edition. Question I have is the exhaust seems to point downwards and I was wondering whether to get some tail pipe covers , maybe a chrome pair ?

Few questions

1) is it modified to look like a A/B
2) how many of you have added tail pipe covers
3) any suggestion which ones to get that are suitable for downward facing exhaust

Definitely not a A/B rear end, as far as exhaust tailpipes can't really comment, personally think the A/B tailpipes do look dated now just appear to hang in the middle of nowhere.

Cheers

I’m with Col on this, definitely not AB and tips look very weird on these. We have a 2013 at the shop with Kahn end pipes, for me they look terrible. I feel the same about the Quicksilver end pipes. I want to remove the rear mufflers on mine, but retain the semi hidden exhaust tips to keep the clean rear end appearance. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

With a nicely matched body kit to go with them, they look very good, Col. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

This is an AB rear set up, and the pipes actually point down within the tailpipe cover.

A friend fitted the same design but meant for the petrol variant to his diesel car, which has the tail pipe pointing to the rear, and he is now always cleaning the rear of his car as this gets covered in a fine dirty mist.

So then as my end point down can I get end pieces to clip over these ? (Especially like Cols) ?

Amazon / eBay ?

I’m pretty sure Col has a complete body kit on his which really makes it look nice.

You will probably end up with soot issues on the back since you don’t have a DPF (why the tips point down). My ‘11 has a DPF and the pipes aim to the back with no soot issues, and it’s a white car. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

I had an oval set on my, non-DPF MY2010 when I bought it. I personally didn't like them so they went to a member on here. I don't know where they came from or if they are still available.

Yeah…, I might just leave mine as they are are downward facing and they quite low profile actually so not really notice them

Yeah, very expensive. very over priced O/F kit, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. Laughing

My old one was a genuine Autobiography, the tailpipe point out towards the back of the tailpipe trims.

Don't know what the actual difference is, but would have thought internally angled down although from the outside look identical. Same tailpipe listed for the 3.0L diesel and N/A 5.0L petrol, different one listed for the 5.0L S/C, my factory A/B 5.0L S/C originally came with straight out one's.

Cheers
Col

I think the 3.0 TDV6 Euro4 and possibly 3.6 TDV8 in 2010 were the last of the pipes aimed down in Europe since in 2011 the 3.6 TDV8 was discontinued and only 3.0’s with DPFs were available due to Euro5. Petrol engine pipes have always pointed rearward as far as I’m aware. So from 2011 all pipes would aim back since they wouldn’t be blowing soot. The ATB tips look the same from the rear, but they have mounts suited to the downward pipes or rearward pipes. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory
