A word of Warning…..

I have just had the joyous call saying my car is due at the dealers end of October (ordered July)

My response, “great so can I now finalise my build”.

Dealer, “errrrrrrr, we’ll JLR are picking cars that they can build and locking them in without informing the dealers, so you can’t change your order”

So I’d suggest those, like me that put a basic order to secure a spot and are wanting to change there order, be proactive and tell the dealer now.

I wasn’t overly fussed as i only really wanted to change the colour (couldn’t really justify that) and stereo which would have added 6-9 months which kind of made my kind up on that.

As my order date was the 10th June and the last words from my dealer were 'next year', I have to wonder where the difference lies. My spec is an AB which at the time of order included Surround sound. Is that the problem because I guess that spec still can't be built?

I also follow a Porsche forum and they also can't get surround sound chips but they are building cars and sending them to sit is dealers yards. Their dealers must be thrilled.

My order is a basic ish spec, they problem you have is that the AB has stuff that they cannot get chips for, stereo being a prime example. They are building what they have parts stock of, so time of order is irrelevant.
