Landrover Route Planner and Car sat nav handover.

Can anyone help with this please?

I have a Here maps account and subscription, and I keep the maps up to date via USB. in the car, I have signed in to my Here account.

On my iPhone, I have the Landrover Route planner. I have signed into that (same details as in the car). The app shows a list of favourites, as does the car. They are mostly the same - the destination are the same, but them name might not be - so for instance the favourite I called "Bob's House" might just be called by the postcode. Some of the "recents are there but not all.

On the Landrover.here.com website, all the favourites are in sync. as are all the recent destinations.

Anyway. Where I'm in the house, in the Route Planner app, on the phone I search and pick a destination, click start and on the app navigation starts.

Then I go to the car, and I was expecting at that point for the car navigation to take over - but it doesn't. Navigation carries on in the Route Planner app, but what's the point of that?

Is it supposed to handover but is somehow broken and doesn't, or is the Route planner app just a nav app for the phone?

I've tried calling Landrover customer services, but the phone line has gone and I just get an email referring me to the dealer

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

I have never understood the app and always use the PC to sort out my route and the sync to the car.

When I get to the car the destination is available to use.

Thanks Jim. Can you explain how that works, please? Do you start the route on the Web, and then the route is active when you get to the car?

Or do you just find a destination in the web site, and then it's present in the sat nav? If so, where is it? in Favourites?

thanks

I've done more investigation on this.

If a favourite is created in either the app (Route Planner) or the Route Planner website, then it appears in Favourites in the car.

To enter the destination in the app, you have to pretend you're starting a route by entering a destination and then save it as a destination.

As far as I can see, creating a route in the route planner app doesn't help, as it doesn't seem to transfer to the car
