2018 L494 Suspension

Hi all,

I’ve recently taken delivery of a 2018 3.0d Autobiography after trading in my 2015 model.

Obviously the newer car is a great upgrade but one thing that stands out is the ride comfort on the new car is significantly firmer. Every small bump is felt and shudders through the car, my old car soaked everything up in its stride. Both cars have the same 21” wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Verde tyres. Tyre pressures are correct.

I’ve tried changing the settings from Auto, Comfort and Dynamic mode and to be honest I can barely feel any difference between Comfort and Dynamic. I would have thought there should be a noticeable difference between the modes. If there is a difference it’s very marginal.

Just curious if any other owners feel a significant difference between the modes, it almost feels like the suspension setting is stuck in Dynamic! I’m wondering if they’ve firmed up the suspension on the facelift model perhaps?

As a comparison, I’ve also been driving a Discovery Sport P300e riding on 20” wheels and it’s a much more cosseting ride than the RRS, not sure if that should be the case!

Any feedback welcome.

Steve
