It happens. Mine went three or so years ago. Had both replaced just in case the other one was on its way too - the majority of the cost is in the labour required to strip off the top end so doing both is cheaper than doing one today, the other next year. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

There is a good video on YouTube of doing the job on the V6 - and it looks long and involved, but not complicated, if that makes sense.. just a lot of stuff to move out of the way before you can get to the offending articles! 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S |

The longest part is removing everything on top and putting it all back. I the the LH manifold not too long ago on my 3.0, I think it took me four days, but I was doing it at work and getting interrupted. I know the timing belt cover had to be loosened on that side to get access, coolant had to be drained, fuel rail and injectors out, and lots of small hoses and wires to relocate. Not a terrible job, it was the first one I’ve done at the shop so it took longer figuring out what really had to go and what could stay. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory
