Can anyone advise me what to look for to replace to stop the steering wheel judder over 50 mph and on a motorway a tendency to wander which means constant slight steering adjustments, I have had the front tyres replaced and balanced and moved front wheels to back in case I have a buckled wheel but still the same any help would be appreciated ,

If you have odd tyre wear, for example signs of sideways scuffing across the tread, it may be your wheel bearings.

They're hard to check by normal means, but in my case once the bearing was off, it was obvious it was knackered.

New bearings and wobble went.

Front lower wishbone bushes are a favourite

Wandering on a motorway is not unusual, blame poor quality road surface and ruts, especially in lane 1. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

w/bone bushes! Mine were "ok" and passed MOT but I tried everything, New tires, alignments, check wheels for buckles,
When I took the bottom arms off the rear bushed were shot badly. polybushes and another alignment and all sorted!

Same here, bushes cured all vibration, shutter, and creaking. 2018 Telsa MS

I’m hoping wishbone bushes will cure my similar issues, though mine manifest themselves with braking also at strange times namely downhill or on the motorway. Symptoms just like warped discs but they are brand new and brake smooth at low medium speeds.

I get no knocks, rattling or squeaks from the front suspension at all.

I’ll get and replace the bushes at some point but I’m recovering from a crushed middle finger on my right hand which precludes spanner work for the moment 😞 Steve

You have exactly the same symptoms as I did. I changed discs 1st then balancing etc. The bushes sorted all the issues

Thanks for the input and now sorted and yes Dave it was the wheel bearings both changed along with one lower ball joint and steering now good.
