Remapping a 5.0 V8 s/c?

Hi all,

I previously owned a MY2014 SDV6 which I had remapped by DMS in Southampton with very impressive results.

I’ve swapped the diesel for a V8 s/c and have just asked DMS to come and do a recap in 10 days’ time.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I’m assuming the engine is good for the “around 600hp” it will be after the remap given its use in the SVR but should I be concerned at all? I know the ZF8HP gearbox and Brembo brakes are up to the job.

Thanks for any thoughts! 2014 L494 V8 s/c Autobiography Dynamic

Recap? Is that a remap?

I think they also do pulley swaps.

Good spot!

Yes a pulley swap is their “stage 2” offering. I don’t want to go for mechanical mods at the moment - to me circa 600hp is enough for now…just interested to hear if anyone here has done a remap on a V8 s/c and whether it’s worth it? 2014 L494 V8 s/c Autobiography Dynamic

I had my old RRS1 5.0L s/c done pulley changed and remapped. With just a remap I would take 600Hp which is actually around 590Bhp with a pinch of salt unless I actually saw it on the Dyno. You can certainly feel the difference, I had it done because I could, not because the car needed it. Evil or Very Mad

Cheers

Yes, was done last week - it certainly feels very fast but then it wasn't exactly slow beforehand!

I haven't had much of a chance to really push it (without kids in the car!) but it is noticeably punchier and I've noticed the traction control light flickering a few times whilst accelerating on wet roads recently which I've never seen before apart from when I'm off-road... 2014 L494 V8 s/c Autobiography Dynamic

I got DMS to do it, they did the remap on my SDV6 which was much more “necessary”!

No, they didn’t touch the gearbox ECU. 2014 L494 V8 s/c Autobiography Dynamic
