United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey
REPLACE TDV6 with SDV6

Hello

I have a 2011 RRS HSE with a TDV6 3.0 (broken engine) and want to replace it with a SDV6 3.0 engine from a 2018 RRS HSE.

Can I simply insert the SDV6 engine into the 2011 RRS? The advantage of just inserting the SDV6 engine is it has the more powerful turbos.

If not what do I need to change?

One alternative I have thought of is to just use the block from the SDV6 and use the turbos and wiring hardness from the TDV6.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Not that simple

Gen 2 engine has variable flow oil pump and water pump, as well as completely different EGR system and DEF functionality

They are not compatible without major reworking

The SDV6 has been stripped right down to the block. How would you suggest rebuilding it so it can be put into the 2011 car?
