Hi guys and gals.

Read all there is to read on here regarding programming of keys or replacing keys but i seem to have a unique problem.
I have recently purchased a 2015 L494 which only came with one key fob (first problem)
I have since upgraded the fob for a new one via RRUK's excellent replacement service.
Upon inspection and dismantling of the old fob i discovered the emergency key blade was missing (second problem)
I now find myself in the unusual situation of not being able to get in the car if the worst should happen and the battery goes flat on the car.
The previous owner was an 87 year old disabled gentleman who part exchanged his vehicle for a newer model with the secondhand car dealer i bought the car from, they will not give me his details to contact him due to data protection rules so i find myself messaging the dealer and hoping they can do something with the previous owner but passing messages back and forth takes time and relies on them both to respond to me.
I am not confident of the previous owner finding the original key blade and i feel it must have been lost with the other lost keyfob

So my question to you knowledgable people on here is what are my options to get a replacement key or preferably keys?
Am i going to have to go down the stealers route for this and pay silly money or is there an alternative?

JLR will know the key number, so you will just have to order a blade or two (probably just 1 to save money) and a new key from them too. It won't be cheap.

You could try getting the key number from JLR for free, and then using it on ebay to get a blade
