Java RRS closely followed by Police Car ~100mph

On the way back from Birmingham airport this afternoon (3:30ish), we were passed by a Java RRS (HSE I think) doing approx 100mph being followed closely by a Police car - to begin with we thought the RRS was about to be stopped for speeding but before long we realised they were together (we followed closely in AMG55 stealth mode Wink )

We weren't keeping up, and after a about a mile or so the RRS started undertaking cars Shocked - the police car went to do it, but then decided against it and flicked the blues on and the van & car in fast lane pulled across to the middle lane - the Police car then proceeded to turn the blues off and hammer it again

Whatever the reason for the speed, I couldn't believe they were going at such a speed without blues on all the time, and making crazy manuveres on a busy motorway - the RRS was completely unmarked - we couldn't really work out what was going on - very unimpressed and a little annoyed I didn't get the plates of each car involved

There were a couple of other RRS's on the M6 at the time - maybe another member saw it?

btw the driver of the RRS had a police hi-vis jacket on too - another reason we decided they were together

The local motorway polis here have an unmarked TDv8 RRS and an unmarked S/C FFRR (I see them in the local dealers fairly often and the only giveaway that they are police cars are a couple of odd aerials on the roof and the blue lights hidden behind the grille where you can hardly see them. I suspect that you either saw training session or a copper out "testing" the Superintendent's new car! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim,

That was my feeling - doesn't impress me for a second - not the time nor the place, and most certainly not the way to drive at speed

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

You would normally have at least two police cars escorting Royalty. One in front, the other bringing up the rear. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Talking of being spotted..saw a RRS coming towards me today.....the only thing that caught my eye was the rather garish Tan leather interior Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

Think you're probably right Kaine....local plod testing the RRS.....after all around Brum they always used to use the old RR years and years ago as a motorway car. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

The only reason it was being followed by the marked car was so that they could turn on the flashing lights when the RRS broke down further up the road Laughing Laughing
