Maintenance Intervals on a ‘new’ Buy

First post and hoping for advice.

About to commit to a 30k mile 2018 facelift RRS. Very happy
With the overalll package and deal, comes with full RR service history, as would be expected.

Just enquiring as to future servicing intervals, cost etc and if someone has an overview of similar ownership?

Also considering an extended warranty past the initial 12 month offered by the dealer and peoples considerations regarding this? From reading, it seems very loose as to what is actuality included in said warranty.

Thanks I’m advance.

I'd suggest finding a decent specialist Land Rover garage and use them for all servicing work. LR main dealerships are expensive and generally do poor quality work.

Obviously, any warranty work would need to be done by the dealer if it's an LR warranty, although if it's just the aftermarket extended one, you can get work done at any suitable garage. The warranty is provided by a third party and isn't a Land Rover warranty, no matter what the dealer might tell you.

As for whether a warranty is worth having, that's a personal thing. They're generally not cheap and all come with limitations. LR's extended warranty doesn't cover a lot of the car - glass, lots of the wiring, all sorts of stuff. It won't cover you for a failed crankshaft either - although the outcome of that seems to vary.

Servicing intervals are now flexible, I think, and the vehicle will tell you when it needs doing. As for costs, well that depends on where you go really. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Much appreciated RRSTSV8. The intention was to book in with the local LR Indy to give it all a thorough checking over once in possession and inside of the 14 day ‘cooling off’ period.

I don’t know about you, but I always rather trust someone with a genuine interest in the brand, such as an independent than going directly to manufacturer in terms of servicing/coatings although wouldn’t always stick to the cheapest.

Again, thanks for the sound advice!

This is a Maintenance Check Sheet for a MY14 on car, however wouldn't know if it is still current. You may need to view it in My Gallery to make it more legible though.

Cheers

Thanks Col. if anything it serves as an excellent guide, regardless of year.
