Rear demister repair kit

Hi all, my 2006 Sport has various breaks in the window lines, has anyone done a repair using the kits available. The windows are booked in for tinting this week so wanted to get it fixed.

Yes, I can't remember the brand but one of those silver paint like nail varnish (sorry, couldn't think of a better description)

If done on the cracks it rejoins the circuit, but the hard bit is putting on enough to carry the current without looking crap. I do it by hand rather than use the stencil as it's much too wide, but just build up a few layers when each has dried. The windows on my old RR weren't tinted, but you can definitely see the silver from the rear, it'll be worse with tints. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Thanks for the info, I'm tempted to leave it as I'm more concerned about how the repair will look through the tints than I am about the demister not fully working.

Thinking more about it, if you were going to leave it anyway then you'd have nothing to lose by just putting on a real thin covering which you probably wouldn't see. It's only the overspill onto glass you'd see, but if bothered then it would likely scrape off with a sharp blade. I was doing it for function rather than looks so put plenty on.

If you want a practice you're more than welcome to do my RR window as im sure I've a few lines needing done again.. Wink 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Your insurance company should cover a replacement of the glass as it is a safety issue if you cant see through it, I had mine replaced on this basis.

Can but try that insurance path, I suppose.

Itried a repair due to lots of scrapes through the element lines but didnt realise there was a film , Doh! So now slicing down either side of the gap in the lines and away to paint again the missing bits inbetween the masking tape . Hope it works ?

By the way , I get this is an old thread.

Well that painting the lines was a waste of £8
