Lost power and loads black from rear of car towing 2 ton caravan over the hills here in NZ, opened bonnet and top Turbo hose split which is a common problem I believe, had the car tuned 6 weeks ago with 30% increase in power which I think may have caused weak hose to split with increased boast pressure, is it best to for new genuine hose or to fit silicone hose as cannot source silicon turbo hose in NZ, how many have had engine tuned and been ok with standard hose fitted. |

My car now covered 202,000km and is 14 years old with all standard hoses, never replaced. Had a BAS map done in about 2012 when the car had 60,000km - no issues at all. Reports of turbo hose splits are pretty common and does not correlate with remaps.
