Germany 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Fuji White
SDV6; need help and advice

Dear all,

I just purchased a RRS D300 Dynamic SDV6 with 39k miles on the clock from 2018 with a 24 month warranty from a LR main dealer. I am aware of the frequent crank shaft failures with the TDV6/SDV6 models. As I plan to drive the car at least for the next 5 years and hoping it could last to around 100k miles, what are your opinions? Are these issues still prevalent on newer models? Given good maintenance, could I get there relatively stress free?

Thank you.

Afternoon Edward, the issue with the crankshaft can happen at any time regardless wether it’s been maintained well or not,one went on a sdv6 I sold with only 33000 miles full LR history & I’ve heard others have done 100,000 miles plus with no problems,,I’m afraid it’s the luck of the drawer. Andy.

Ok wow, definitely have not expected that! Do you happen to know if there are any preventative measures? Thank you so much.

I’ve had 7 naks & im sure I’ll have another sometime Laughing Laughing. To be honest,if you read all the horror stories about cars you would never buy one,the focus RS I had have problems, the ford ranger I know have have problems,,but the thing is if you have a good warranty in place then our covered for these problems,,,,,,Hopefully Andy.
