SatNav Update

Hi All,

Sorry, this question has probably been asked many times before but....................

My 2015 L494's satnav is out of date map wise, I doubt its ever been updated.

What's the best way of updating it without taking it to a dealer and organising a mortgage.

Cheers.

Used them for my 2013 and worked perfectly
Need to update my 2015 L494 so thinking of going through LR on the 3yr deal as works out cheaper than doing a map upgrade every year over the next 3 years RRS HSE DYNAMIC 2015 ODESSEY RED

Hi Chris. Just had my 14 plate RRS upgraded by lookers land rover in Chelmsford. They needed it for four hours. Cost me 264 quid inc vat. So far, I'm very pleased with the upgrade.

Hey folks. Sorry for the silly question.
What exactly does the upgrade do? Update the maps to the latest version? Does it change the look and the feel of the sat nav or any other feature on the digital screen?
I'v always used the car sat nav as a backup for when the phone fails so having up to date maps is a bonus.
Thanks.

Eventually after a deal of research I decided to give it a go with the SatNavShop.......

https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/land-rover-24-c.asp

......it wasn't plain sailing I have to say so if you use them here are some tips........

1) Insist on getting the install code that you paid for straight away, I paid for the upgrade and the code but they sent me the download link and told me to contact them if it asked for a code (it always will), so that introduced a delay

2) You must use a 32Gb USB (preferably USB3) stick formatted to FAT32, use GUIFORMAT (free web download) to re-format your stick no matter if its already on FAT 32 and formatted - IT HAS TO BE A 32GB STICK you can't use a larger one (or a smaller one)

3) You need to either sit in the car with the engine running for 3 hours or have somewhere secure where the car can be left, engine running, for around 3 hours while the upgrade happens

Follow these and you'll be fine.

My upgrade cost £90 and slight hassle aside, its a good way to go.

Can you not connect the car to wifi when parked at home and just update over the internet?

No, you have to download to a PC, laptop or crappy Apple device and from there onto a 32Gb memory stick 2015 Range Rover Sport L494 HSE Dynamic

I think that was only available from 2017. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

It doesn’t work on 2017 cars either. The software can update over the air, but not the satnav data. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB
