Has anyone found that when you put your "HOME" details into the satnav, that it doesnt quite correspond to the exact location as to where it shows your car position ....... my home appears approx 2cm away ? Crying or Very sad

Yes occasionally i am right on top of my house and sometimes off to the side. I guess it also depends on the positioning of the satelites. 2006 RRS HSE, Chawton White, Alpaca with Cherry Wood Trim (Luxury Interior Pkg)

Spent lunchtime playing around with satnav, didnt realise you could go into calibration ... thus enabling you to reposition " HOME " having checked that the calibration for the satnav positioning itself is/was spot on.

All is now well Very Happy

GPS has some error

You should re-calibrate your GPS - that should fix the problem.

Keep in mind, GPS is now working in precision mode, but there is some error for consumer reception - so results will vary.

not to make light of the fact that the GPS is off, but if you're using the GPS to go home then you should know where your own home is without having to rely on your GPS Very Happy Food for thought

Biggles, I have tried the "Navigation, I'm hungry" and it shows you restaurants around. It's kinda cool unless you're on a road trip and the place you think you're going isn't there anymore Confused RRS S/C Special Edition, Vesuvius

I don't think mine is exactly positioned on my house but by the time I have reached within a few miles of home it doesn't really matter that much. L319 D4 HSE

I set my home position when we first got the car. Then after about two months, the home position changed by itself and moved our house into the middle of a field about 300yds away. Maybe the car is itching to do some off-roading Laughing
I simply changed this back my selecting a new position manually on the map, but I don't know why it changed in the first place. Matt

Technically I'm sure a copy would work, but legally of course is a different matter. It's not fair on Martin to be promoting illegal activity on one of his forums.

Added to which, given you're in Montreal the European discs wouldn't be much good for you. Not sure if the NA discs include Canada, but if the dealer has lost it, he is responsible for supplying you with another.

Cheers

Your dealer should be able to get direct from the manufacturer without delay. ( or you and charge him for doing so ) see link to Navteq

or read details in other topic/thread :- http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=445

Hope this helps modena
