ok last thursday in the early Hours (4:30am) had a visit from 3 scumbags , intent on taking something that did not belong to them ,
hearing a knocking noise outside my bedroom i woke up to find them smashing at the drivers door window with a Hammer.
when i shouted at them a load of $$$$%%%%^^^ , i ran downstairs , but it appears there failed attempt to steal my RRS
they smashed 4 more windows a dent on the roof and 5 more windows on the House smashed . and they scarpered in a small
white Van , fortunately i have CCTV and was able to review there Antics , but was unable to identify them due to them wearing Hoodies coppers were not really interested
ended up with a few Minor knocks on the car ( will sort out myself ) but 6 windows damaged (all to be replaced on Insurance ) and tints to get sorted arranged for next week

not sure how i feel now whether i want to keep a nice car , if scumbags just feel they can take what they like .
have owned for 2.5 years kept it looked after , all repairs and maint done as required been a pleasure to own
but is it worth it.

Looks like the most inept thieves possible. Breaking a window with a hammer outside your home. What happens if they managed to get in. Not like the old days when you touch a couple of wires together to get it started.

I have a steering wheel lock but also have a i dependant tracker ( not LR as they fit them in same place so scumbags know where they are)
But most importantly a Ghost2 immobilser RRS HSE DYNAMIC 2015 ODESSEY RED

i do not know why the Alarm did not go off. will sort that
all the glass been replaced , waiting to get the tints done , booked in the middle of next week .
Police have give me an update that they have questioned a known Car thief who matches the description of FAT BOY
apparently , they dont need to rob your house now for the keys, once they get to the OBD port they can just
create a new key ..
so the best security i can get is to block that port off
i do have a crooklock but as i did not get home till 2am
that morning , so thought i was ok not to use it for 5 hours.. ( Lesson Learnt )

I have come from the world of Audi S ownership and my eyes have been truly opened from the forums I was on, I had invested in Ghost, disk locks, Faraday pouches and moving the ODB port. but fellow members have unfortunately learned that this is useless if the thieves want the car enough, they come into the house and get what they need.

I still use the steering wheel lock and ODB port is moved to protect it away from home and to give some kind of deterrent but if anyone wants it bad enough to threaten the Kids / Mrs then its theirs.
