Winter Tyres for an SVR
Hi,
Sorry for yet another tyre question but I need to get some winter tyres for my SVR which is on 21"' rims. They need to be robust enough to cope with the French Alps in winter and have the M&S / Snowflake symbol to future proof them. Default starting point is the Conti CrossContact Winters but interested to see if anyone had recommendations for anything else. I had a set of Vredestein Wintrac Pro's on my previous X5 and they were fine (and about £80 a corner cheaper).
Thanks in advance......

The Continentals regularly do very well in winter tyre tests (albeit those tests are normally on smaller car-size tyres). I would tend to look at the wet and dry braking results and go with one of the best in those. That's where tyres can earn their price back as that's when you avoid the potential accident (or not, of course).
Traction is less of a problem - no one does "emergency starts", do they , and who even gets close to the lateral grip limits of tyres on the road?2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
