I have just picked up a black 2016 RRS. It has a svr bodykit and four piece chrome exhaust (only mentioned that with the issue below)

I noticed today under the boot release button and rear parking camera (that bit you don't see until the boot opens) the underside of that part of the boot is a bit black in colour but also a lot of silver. The black paint seems to flake off really easy to reveal more of the silver.

What I'm not sure is what the typical colour of this area should be. Should it match the car paint colour? Would it be silver to match the exhausts? One thing I do know is the black parts flake off on your hand and I've never never seen car paint do that. This one has a really good exterior finish so has been looked after. So really not sure what it is.

The trim is available in gloss black or silver depending on vehicle colour/spec (or Carbon Fibre as an accessory). Could it be that the silver trim has been painted black? I have the black and even though I scratched it, (now replaced) it was still black underneath.

As a matter of interest did you know that LR have now dropped the price of the carbon fibre accessory item from over £600 to less than £200, maybe an option. Part No. is LR098814.

Yea I googled around and can see these strips are plastic and can be replaced.

Mine is all black, but now it is peeling its reverting back to Silver. The way its peeling it looks like it was silver but then wrapped in vinyl or plastic to get the black colours.
